Our ingredients
To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry contribute to good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with additional valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our feed. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also possess other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, aid digestion.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring that your dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be beneficial for a dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our feed come from plants across Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, specific ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific issues can be alleviated through the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Westie-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Westie. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Westie belongs. Based on these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Westie.
Chamomile
Chamomile is a genus from the composite family. Chamomile is widely cultivated in Hungary and Eastern Europe. It also grows wild throughout Europe. The name Chamomile comes from a Greek word meaning "earth apple" and refers to its apple-like scent. Chamomile has a great reputation in natural medicine.
Chamomile can be added to Yourdog dog food because it could positively contribute to preventing breed-specific issues related to the stomach, intestines, skin, rheumatism, nerves, inflammations, and urinary tract.
Chamomile can have a mild calming effect on dogs and could therefore be used for dogs that frequently experience stress. In addition, it can have a positive effect on dogs with "nervous digestion" as it can have antispasmodic and antiseptic properties.
Apple
The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, which produces the common eating apples, especially in the northern hemisphere. Apples grow in temperate regions.
Dietary fiber has versatile effects in the digestive tract. It can absorb moisture, making stools soft and smooth. Dietary fiber also increases the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates intestinal function but also ensures thorough removal of waste products.
Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. In addition, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fiber that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble and apples are low in calories.
Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C ensures the development of muscle and bone during the early years.
Cranberry
The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. In the Netherlands, this plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. The plant originally comes from North America and is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.
Cranberries contain a unique blend of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures healthy levels of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also full of vitamins A, B, and C, and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes urine more acidic, which makes the bladder environment less attractive for bacteria. Adding cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibers in cranberries have a beneficial effect on digestion and provide a longer feeling of fullness.
Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could positively contribute to preventing breed-specific issues related to, among other things, digestion, skin, joints, bones, and nerve functions.

Feeding Advice
| Body Weight (kg) | Daily Amount (g) |
| 1 - 5 | 35 - 115 |
| 5 - 10 | 115 - 190 |
| 10 - 20 | 190 - 315 |
Transition Advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another brand of food, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog will now be almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can, at your discretion, start feeding 100% Yourdog Westie dog food.
Storage Advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to place the entire bag, which you have re-sealed as tightly as possible, into the container.
