Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, contribute to digestion.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be alleviated by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Weimaraner-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Weimaraner. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Weimaraner belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Weimaraner.
Glucosamine
Glucosamine is a substance naturally found in joints, cartilage, joint fluid, and tendons. Glucosamine stimulates the production of cartilage and keeps joints supple.
Glucosamine is one of the most commonly used supplements for dogs with osteoarthritis and/or joint problems. This is not only the case with older dogs, or (overweight) heavy dogs, but increasingly also with younger, very agile dogs. For example, due to a hereditary predisposition to joint problems. For these and other reasons, glucosamine is added to our dog food.
Chondroitin
Chondroitin occurs naturally in the dog's body and is one of the main components of cartilage tissue. In dogs, chondroitin can attract and retain moisture, which should provide a sponge-like cushioning in the cartilage.
Chondroitin improves the flexibility of cartilage and also has pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. In addition, it also stimulates the production of building blocks that serve for healthy cartilage.
If chondroitin is given in combination with glucosamine, it supports and strengthens the effect of glucosamine. It is therefore often given as a dietary supplement for people and animals suffering from osteoarthritis.
Blueberry
Blueberries belong to the heather family of plants and grow mainly in open forests in the northern hemisphere. The plant has been used for a long time in traditional European medicine and is known for its positive effects on gastrointestinal diseases and diabetes.
Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants, which protect the body against free radicals. In addition, they contain good fibre for digestion and the berries are rich in vitamins C and K. It could support the immune system and contribute to the overall health of the dog.

Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Weimaraner dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to put it in the bin with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible.
