Our ingredients
For a 12 kg bag of our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring that dogs receive all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for a dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, certain ingredients are given special attention. Breed-specific issues can be alleviated by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Giant Schnauzer-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Giant Schnauzer. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Giant Schnauzer belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Giant Schnauzer.
Fenugreek
Fenugreek, like peas, is a plant from the legume family. The plant is also known as foenugreek or 'Greek hay'. It originated in Mesopotamia and was already known in the Mediterranean region in ancient times. Today, fenugreek is also cultivated in Central Asia.
Fenugreek is rich in iron and copper. Fenugreek contains saponin and coumarins, which can help with vein problems. Furthermore, it has anti-inflammatory properties (a natural anti-inflammatory) and promotes bile production.
Fenugreek can be added to our food to prevent arthritis, asthma, and skin problems. The stomach and intestines also benefit from the positive effects of fenugreek addition, and it supports healthy digestion.
Spirulina
Spirulina is a food supplement with exceptionally high nutritional value, made from blue-green algae found in tropical and subtropical regions. It belongs to the microalgae family. Did you know that spirulina can be grown in space and consists of 60 to 70% protein?
It is rich in vitamins, including B12, minerals such as calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, and potassium, and all essential amino acids. Spirulina can generally contribute to a dog's health and well-being. In addition, it can help support the immune system and promote healthy skin and a shiny coat. The algae also have a detoxifying effect and promote digestion.
Celery
Celery is a plant from the Apiaceae family. The plant is often found along the coast on wet ground.
Celery is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, but also contains a lot of folic acid and potassium. In addition, celery is fat-free, rich in fibre, and very low in calories.
We add celery to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to supporting the dog's immune system and digestion. It can also have a positive effect on skin and coat, muscle and nerve function due to vitamin A, and maintaining strong bones due to vitamin K.

Feeding advice
| Body weight (kg) | Daily amount (g) |

| 40 - 60 | 525 - 750 |
| > 60 | 11 g/kg body weight |
Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost entirely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Giant Schnauzer dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible, into the bin.
