Our Ingredients

To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for every 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is brimming with health benefits.

Poultry

Portuguese Water Dog-Specific Vegetables, Herbs, and Fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Portuguese Water Dog. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Portuguese Water Dog belongs. Yucca

This plant grows in the deserts of the Southwestern USA and Northern Mexico. The roots of the yucca have been used for centuries by Native Americans in these areas as medicine for rheumatism and arthritis. It inhibits pain and inflammation in the joints.

Yucca can be added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to rheumatism, arthritis, osteoarthritis, the intestines, and the heart. Yucca can also reduce the strong odor of feces and eliminate smelly flatulence.

Parsley

Parsley is a biennial, hardy, herbaceous plant from the carrot family. Parsley has been used as a medicinal herb for hundreds of years. There are dozens of ailments that parsley combats. According to various sources, it cures, among other things, diarrhea, anemia, and ear infections. It is packed with iron, more than spinach, for example. Parsley also contains other minerals such as silicon, as well as vitamins B and C, and carotene.

Parsley is a natural source of vitamins C, A, and K. This can contribute to the immune system and eyes, and can support the cardiovascular system and liver. Parsley also has anti-inflammatory properties and can have a diuretic effect, which keeps the dog's bladder free from contamination.

Carrot

The carrot as we know it today, or the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossbreeding. The first white carrots originally came from Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the VOC in the 17th century.

Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fiber. Carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. This is important for the formation of capillaries and the health of all cells. The fiber in a carrot contributes to the dog's digestion. Puppy, Adult, or Senior?

To help you make the right choice among our Portuguese Water Dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Portuguese Water Dog is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Portuguese Water Dog older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Portuguese Water Dog Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

If your Portuguese Water Dog doesn't seem to like their Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of the purchase price.

Feeding Advice

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for two or three days again. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely transitioned to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Portuguese Water Dog food.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the container, but to place the entire bag, resealing it as tightly as possible, inside the container.
