Our Ingredients
For the production of our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables are added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, contribute to digestion.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, providing the dog with all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are emphasized. Breed-specific complaints can be alleviated by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Portuguese Pointer Specific Vegetables, Herbs, and Fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Portuguese Pointer. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Portuguese Pointer belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Portuguese Pointer.
Chondroitin
Chondroitin occurs naturally in a dog's body and is one of the main components of cartilage tissue. In dogs, chondroitin is able to attract and retain moisture, which should provide sponge-like cushioning in the cartilage.
Chondroitin improves cartilage flexibility and also has pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. In addition, it stimulates the production of building blocks that serve for healthy cartilage.
If chondroitin is given in combination with glucosamine, it supports and strengthens the action of glucosamine. It is therefore often given as a dietary supplement for people and animals suffering from osteoarthritis.
Banana
The banana plant grows in tropical regions where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana was cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word 'banaana' from the language of the Wolof people.
Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid), and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen immunity. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, and magnesium can help relax muscles and promote bone growth. In addition, bananas contain many good fibers and ensure more good bacteria in the intestines.
Blueberry
Blueberries belong to the heather family of plants and grow primarily in open forests in the Northern Hemisphere. The plant has been used for a long time in traditional European medicine and is known for its positive effects on diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and diabetes.
Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants, which protect the body against free radicals. In addition, they contain good fibers for digestion and the berries are rich in vitamins C and K. They could support the immune system and contribute to the dog's overall health.

Feeding Advice
| Body Weight (kg) | Daily Amount (g) |
| 10 - 20 | 190 - 315 |
| 20 - 40 | 315 - 525 |
| 40 - 60 | 525 - 750 |
Transition Advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for two or three days as well. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Portuguese Pointer dog food.
Storage Advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you seal as well as possible, into the bin.
