Our ingredients

To make our food, for a 12 kg bag, 10.6 kg of meat is dried so that it can be processed better into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, so that the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

Pharaoh dog-specific vegetables, herbs and fruit

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Pharaoh dog. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Pharaoh dog belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Pharaoh dog.

Licorice Root

Licorice root is derived from the Greek glyks for 'sweet' and rhiza for 'root', and is also called Glycyrrhiza glabra. The plant originates from Eurasia, North Africa and West Asia. Since ancient times, medicinal properties have been attributed to licorice, and the root is often used for the preparation of herbal tea.

Licorice root is said to have a soothing effect on mucous membranes and to also have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. In addition, it can contribute to the recovery of the gastric mucosa and is said to be good for a sensitive gastrointestinal tract.

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant from the heath family. In the Netherlands, this plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. Originally, the plant came from North America and is said to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also full of vitamins A, B and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes the urine more acidic, which makes the environment in the bladder less attractive for bacteria. The addition of cranberry can also have a pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effect. The healthy fibres in cranberries have a healthy effect on digestion and provide a longer feeling of fullness.

Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to, among other things, digestion, skin, joints, bones and nerve functions.

Mango

Mango belongs to the genus Mangifera and probably originates from northeastern India and Southeast Asia. It is a stone fruit with varying shapes and grows on a tree that can reach a height of 40 metres.

This tasty summer treat is packed with essential vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamins A, B6, C and E, and is rich in potassium, beta-carotene and alpha-carotene. Furthermore, mango contains many healthy dietary fibres that contribute to strengthening the immune system and digestion. The natural antioxidant (vitamin C) contributes to the support of vital bodily functions. Vitamin A is full of beta-carotene, which can help maintain and improve eyesight.

We add mango to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to supporting the dog's resistance and healthy digestion. In addition, mango can support the dog's eyesight.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Pharaoh dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Pharaoh dog is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Pharaoh dog older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Pharaoh dog senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

We are convinced of the quality of our food. That is why we provide a palatability guarantee on all Yourdog packaging. If your Pharaoh dog doesn't seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyse the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of your purchase amount.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can, at your own discretion, start feeding 100% Yourdog Pharaoh dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you then close as tightly as possible, into the bin.
