Our Ingredients
To produce our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is bursting with health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables are added to our food. Not only are vegetables nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, ensuring dogs receive all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for a dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are given special attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Italian Greyhound-Specific Vegetables, Herbs, and Fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Italian Greyhound. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Italian Greyhound belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Italian Greyhound.
Fenugreek
Fenugreek, like the pea, is a plant from the legume family. It is also called foenugreek or 'Greek hay'. It originated in Mesopotamia and was already known in the Mediterranean region in antiquity. Today, fenugreek is also cultivated in Central Asia.
Fenugreek is rich in iron and copper. Fenugreek contains saponins and coumarins, which can help with vein problems. Furthermore, it has anti-inflammatory properties (a natural anti-inflammatory) and promotes bile production.
Fenugreek can be added to our food to prevent arthritis, asthma, and skin problems. The stomach and intestines also benefit from the positive effects of fenugreek, and it supports healthy digestion.
Tomato
The tomato is part of the nightshade family and comes from the tomato plant, originally from Mesoamerica. Small varieties were cultivated in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and Mayans. In 1893, it was decided in America that the fruit should be considered a vegetable.
At Yourdog, we use tomato on a culinary level, treating it as a vegetable.
Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories, and have a high soluble fiber content, which contributes to digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, which gives them their red color. The redder a tomato is, the more lycopene it contains. Besides giving tomatoes their red color, it is also known as a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown that lycopene can, among other things, offer protection against cancer and help with cardiovascular diseases. In addition, tomatoes contain a lot of vitamin C and vitamin A and B complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.
Tomato is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, vision, and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, it can have a general cleansing effect on the body.
Raspberries
The raspberry is a plant from the rose family and belongs to the genus Rubus. Raspberry cultivation dates back to the Middle Ages and it is native to all of Europe.
Raspberries contain many substances that can support a dog's health, such as vitamins like vitamin C, minerals like manganese, and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in good fibers.
Raspberry is added to our dog food due to its anti-inflammatory properties, and it can make a positive contribution to the functioning of the immune system. Raspberries can also contribute to maintaining eyesight and a healthy cardiovascular system.

Transition Advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely transitioned to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Italian Greyhound dog food.
Storage Advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you seal as well as possible, into the bin.
