Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

Galgo Español specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Galgo Español. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Galgo Español belongs. Based on these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Galgo Español.

Fenugreek

Fenugreek, like the pea, is a plant from the legume family. The plant is also called foenugreek or 'Greek hay'. It originated in Mesopotamia and was already known in antiquity in the Mediterranean region. Nowadays, fenugreek is also cultivated in Central Asia.

Fenugreek is rich in iron and copper. Fenugreek contains saponin and coumarins, which can help with vein problems. Furthermore, it has anti-inflammatory properties (natural anti-inflammatory) and promotes bile production.

Fenugreek can be added to our food to prevent arthritis, asthma, skin problems. The stomach and intestines also benefit from the positive effects of fenugreek and it supports healthy digestion.

Tomato

The tomato is part of the nightshade family and comes from the tomato plant, originally from Mesoamerica. Small varieties were cultivated in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and Mayans. In 1893, it was decided in America that the fruit should be considered a vegetable.

At Yourdog, we use tomato on a culinary level, considering tomato as a vegetable.

Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories and have a high soluble fiber content, which contributes to digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, which gives tomatoes their red color. The redder a tomato is, the more lycopene it contains. In addition to giving a tomato its red color, it is also known as a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown that lycopene can, among other things, protect against cancer and can help with cardiovascular diseases. In addition, tomatoes contain a lot of vitamin C and vitamin A and B complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.

Tomato is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, vision and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, it can have a general purifying effect on the body.

Raspberries

The raspberry is a plant from the rose family and belongs to the genus Rubus. Raspberry cultivation dates back to the Middle Ages and occurs naturally throughout Europe.

Raspberries contain many substances that can support the dog's health, such as vitamins like vitamin C, minerals like manganese and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in good fiber.

Raspberry is added to our dog food because of its anti-inflammatory properties and it can make a positive contribution to the functioning of the immune system. Raspberries can also contribute to maintaining vision and a healthy cardiovascular system.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our variants of Galgo Español dog food, you can use the following guidelines. If your Galgo Español is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Galgo Español older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Galgo Español senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

We are convinced of the quality of our food. That is why we provide a palatability guarantee on all Yourdog packaging. If your Galgo Español does not seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive your purchase amount back from us.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog has now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After your own discretion, you can then feed 100% Yourdog Galgo Español dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to put it in the container with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible.
