Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together create a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and seaweeds, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
German Longhaired Pointer specific vegetables, herbs, and fruit
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the German Longhaired Pointer. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the German Longhaired Pointer belongs. Based on these studies, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the German Longhaired Pointer.
Chondroitin
Chondroitin occurs naturally in the dog's body and is one of the main components of cartilage tissue. In dogs, chondroitin can attract and retain moisture, which should provide sponge-like cushioning in the cartilage.
Chondroitin improves cartilage flexibility and also has pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. In addition, it stimulates the production of building blocks for healthy cartilage.
If chondroitin is given in combination with glucosamine, it supports and strengthens the effect of glucosamine. It is therefore often given as a nutritional supplement to people and animals suffering from osteoarthritis.
Banana
The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that bananas may have been cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word 'banana' from the language of the Wolof people.
Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid), and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen immunity. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, and magnesium can help relax muscles and promote bone growth. In addition, bananas contain many good fibers and promote beneficial bacteria in the intestines.
Tomato
The tomato is part of the nightshade family and comes from the tomato plant, originally from Mesoamerica. Small varieties were cultivated in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and Mayans. In 1893, it was decided in America that the fruit should be considered a vegetable.
At Yourdog, we use tomato on a culinary level, considering it a vegetable.
Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories, and have a high soluble fiber content, which aids digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, to which they owe their red color. The redder a tomato is, the more lycopene it contains. Besides giving a tomato its red color, it is also known as a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown that lycopene, among other things, can offer protection against cancer and can help with cardiovascular diseases. In addition, tomatoes contain a lot of vitamin C and vitamin A and B complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.
Tomato is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific problems related to digestion, skin, vision, and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, it can have a general purifying effect on the body.

Feeding advice
| Body weight (kg) | Daily amount (g) |

| 40 - 60 | 525 - 750 |
| > 60 | 11 g/kg body weight |
Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three days again. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog German Longhaired Pointer dog food.
Storage advice
After opening Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible, into the bin.
