Buffalo

Bouvier des Ardennes Specific Vegetables, Herbs, and Fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Bouvier des Ardennes. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and FCI breed group to which the Bouvier des Ardennes belongs. Nettle

Nettle is a genus of plants, with the common nettle and the small nettle occurring in the Netherlands and Belgium. Nettle is known for its cleansing and blood-purifying effects. At Yourdog, we add nettle to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the dog's coat, skin, and bones, as well as preventing digestive and/or urination problems.

Fennel

Fennel is a plant from the parsley family and can be recognized by its anise flavor. The thread-like branches of the leaves are often used as an herb, and the seeds as a spice. These seeds have been known for their medicinal properties for centuries.

Like many herbs and seeds, fennel is rich in various vitamins and minerals. It contains a lot of vitamin A and C, and the minerals iron and potassium.

Fennel can be added to our dog food because it can support digestion and counteract bloating in the stomach and intestines. It can contribute to a healthy cardiovascular system and can have a positive effect on joint problems. Fennel is also said to promote fresh breath.

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. In the Netherlands, this plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the country. Originally from North America, it is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Puppy, Adult, or Senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Bouvier des Ardennes dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Bouvier des Ardennes is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Bouvier des Ardennes older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Bouvier des Ardennes Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Feeding Advice

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After your own discretion, you can then feed 100% Yourdog Bouvier des Ardennes dog food.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the bin, but to place the entire bag, which you have sealed as well as possible, into the bin.
