Our ingredients
To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol, fat, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our feed. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring that your dog gets all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for your dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote your dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our feed come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced through the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Black and tan coonhound specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Black and tan coonhound. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Black and tan coonhound belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Black and tan coonhound.
Chamomile
Chamomile is a genus from the daisy family. Chamomile is widely cultivated in Hungary and Eastern Europe. It also grows wild throughout Europe. The name Chamomile comes from a Greek word meaning "earth apple" and refers to its apple-like scent. Chamomile has an excellent reputation in natural medicine.
Chamomile can be added to Yourdog dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the stomach, intestines, skin, rheumatism, nerves, inflammation, and urinary tract.
Chamomile can have a mild calming effect on dogs and could therefore be used for dogs that often experience stress. In addition, it can have a positive effect on dogs with "nervous digestion." It can have antispasmodic and antiseptic properties.
Basil
Basil is a genus from the mint family. The name comes from Ancient Greek, where "basileus" means king, so its alternative name is also king's herb. It originally occurs between central Africa and Southeast Asia.
According to traditional medicine, basil was used as a treatment for conditions including arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart disease, and abdominal pain. Research has shown that basil can have strong antioxidant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. In addition, basil can promote digestion, help eliminate waste products, and can have an antispasmodic and calming effect on dogs.
Fennel
Fennel is a plant from the parsley family and is recognizable by its aniseed flavor. The thread-like branches of the leaves are often used as a herb, and the seeds as a spice. These seeds have been known for their medicinal properties for centuries.
Like many herbs and seeds, fennel is rich in various vitamins and minerals. It contains a lot of vitamin A and C, and the minerals iron and potassium.
Fennel can be added to dog food by us because it can support digestion and counteract bloating in the stomach and intestines. It can contribute to a healthy cardiovascular system and can have a positive effect on joint problems. Fennel is also said to promote fresh breath.

Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another brand of food, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three days as well. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Black and tan coonhound dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the bin, but to place it in the bin with the entire bag, which you should seal as well as possible.
