Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be alleviated by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Billy-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Billy. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Billy belongs. Based on these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Billy.

Chamomile

Chamomile is a genus from the composite family. Chamomile is widely cultivated in Hungary and Eastern Europe. It also grows wild throughout Europe. The name Chamomile comes from a Greek word meaning "ground apple" and refers to its apple-like scent. Chamomile has a great reputation in naturopathy.

Chamomile can be added by us to Yourdog dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the stomach, intestines, skin, rheumatism, nerves, inflammation, and urinary tracts.

Chamomile can have a mild soothing effect on dogs and could therefore be used for dogs that often experience stress. In addition, it can have a positive effect on dogs with "nervous digestion." It can have antispasmodic and antiseptic properties.

Fennel

Fennel is a plant from the carrot family and can be recognized by its anise flavor. The thread-like branches of its leaves are often used as a herb, and its seeds as a spice. These seeds have been known for their medicinal properties for centuries.

Like many herbs and seeds, fennel is rich in various vitamins and minerals. It contains a lot of vitamins A and C, and the minerals iron and potassium.

Fennel can be added by us to dog food because it can support digestion and counteract bloating in the stomach and intestines. It can contribute to a healthy cardiovascular system and can have a positive influence on joint problems. Fennel is also said to promote fresh breath.

Blueberry

Blueberries belong to the heather family of plants and grow mainly in open forests in the northern hemisphere. The plant has been used for a long time in traditional European medicine and is known for its positive effects on gastrointestinal diseases and diabetes.

Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants, which protect the body against free radicals. In addition, they contain good fibers for digestion and the berries are rich in vitamins C and K. They could support the immune system and contribute to the dog's overall health.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Yourdog Billy dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Billy is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Billy older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Billy Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

We will help you analyze the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of the purchase amount.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost entirely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Billy dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it in the bin with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible.
