Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, providing the dog with all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed or breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.
Bernese Hound specific vegetables, herbs and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Bernese Hound. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Bernese Hound belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Bernese Hound.
Chamomile
Chamomile is a genus from the composite family. Chamomile is widely cultivated in Hungary and Eastern Europe. It also grows wild throughout Europe. The name Chamomile comes from a Greek word meaning 'earth apple' and refers to its apple scent. Chamomile has an excellent reputation in natural medicine.
Chamomile can be added to Yourdog dog food by us because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the stomach, intestines, skin, rheumatism, nerves, inflammation and urinary tract.
Chamomile can have a mild calming effect on dogs and could therefore be used for dogs that often experience stress. In addition, it can have a positive effect on dogs with a 'nervous digestion'. It can have an antispasmodic and antiseptic effect.
Basil
Basil is a genus from the mint family. The name comes from Ancient Greek, where 'basileus' means king, hence its alternative name, royal herb. It originally comes from between Central Africa and Southeast Asia.
According to traditional medicine, basil was used as a treatment method for arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart disease and abdominal pain, among other things. Research has shown that basil can have strong antioxidant, antiviral and antimicrobial properties. In addition, basil can promote digestion, help remove waste products, and can have an antispasmodic and calming effect on dogs.
Cranberry
The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. This plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands in the Netherlands and is very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. The plant originally comes from North America and is said to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.
Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also full of vitamins A, B and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes the urine more acidic, which makes the bladder environment less attractive to bacteria. The addition of cranberry can also have a pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effect. The healthy fibres in cranberries have a healthy influence on digestion and ensure a longer feeling of fullness.
Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, joints, bones and nerve functions, among other things.

Feeding advice
| Body weight (kg) | Daily amount (g) |
| 10 - 20 | 190 - 315 |
| 20 - 40 | 315 - 525 |
| 40 - 60 | 525 - 750 |
Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three days as well. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Bernese Hound dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to put it in the container with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible.
