Our ingredients
To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol, fat, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Thus, vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, ingredients are brought to special attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Bernese Hound specific vegetables, herbs and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Bernese Hound. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Bernese Hound belongs. Based on these studies, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Bernese Hound.
Chamomile
Chamomile is a genus of the daisy family. Chamomile is widely cultivated in Hungary and Eastern Europe. It also grows wild throughout Europe. The name Chamomile comes from a Greek word meaning 'ground apple' and refers to its apple scent. Chamomile has a great reputation in natural medicine.
Chamomile can be added by us to Yourdog dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the stomach, intestines, skin, rheumatism, nerves, inflammation, and urinary tract.
Chamomile can have a mild calming effect on dogs and could therefore be used for dogs that often experience stress. In addition, it can have a positive effect on dogs with a 'nervous digestion'. It can have antispasmodic and antiseptic properties.
Basil
Basil is a genus of the mint family. The name comes from Ancient Greek, where 'basileus' means king, so the alternative name is 'king's herb'. It is originally found between Central Africa and Southeast Asia.
According to traditional medicine, basil was used as a treatment for arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart disease, and abdominal pain, among other things. Research has shown that basil can have strong antioxidant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. In addition, basil can promote digestion, help eliminate waste products, and can have an antispasmodic and calming effect on dogs.
Cranberry
The cranberry is a plant from the heath family. This plant is mainly found in the Netherlands on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. The plant originally comes from North America and is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.
Cranberries contain a unique blend of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also packed with vitamins A, B, and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C acidifies the urine, which makes the bladder environment less attractive for bacteria. Adding cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibers in cranberries have a healthy influence on digestion and ensure a longer feeling of fullness.
Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, joints, bones, and nerve functions, among other things.

Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three more days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog has now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can, at your own discretion, start feeding 100% Yourdog Bernese Hound dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the bin, but to place it in the bin with the entire bag, which you re-seal as tightly as possible.
