Our Ingredients

To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol, fat, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Australian Cattle Dog Specific Vegetables, Herbs, and Fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Australian Cattle Dog. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Australian Cattle Dog belongs. From this research, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Australian Cattle Dog.

Nettle

Nettle is a genus of plants, with common nettle and small nettle occurring in the Netherlands and Belgium. Nettle is known for its cleansing and blood-purifying effects. According to various sources, nettle is antibacterial and therefore very suitable for infectious diseases. The leaves are also suitable for diarrhea or other digestive disorders.

Nettle supports the function of the liver and kidneys by stimulating the breakdown of waste products. In addition, it supports bladder function and hair growth in dogs.

Nettle also contains silicic acid, or silicon. This is a building block that is part of connective tissue in bones, tendons, ligaments, skin, hair, and nails, among other things. Silicon supports the natural production of skin (cells) and helps maintain healthy skin.

At Yourdog, we add nettle to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the dog's coat, skin, and bones, as well as preventing digestive and/or urinary problems.

Glucosamine

Glucosamine is a substance naturally produced by the body, found in joints, cartilage, synovial fluid, and tendons. Glucosamine stimulates cartilage production and helps keep joints supple.

Glucosamine is one of the most commonly used supplements for dogs with osteoarthritis and/or joint problems. This is not only the case with older dogs, or (overly) heavy dogs, but also increasingly with younger, very active dogs. For example, due to a genetic predisposition to joint problems. For these and other reasons, glucosamine is added to our dog food.

Fennel

Fennel is a plant from the carrot family and is recognizable by its aniseed flavor. The thread-like branches of the leaves are often used as a herb and the seeds as a spice. These seeds have been known for their medicinal properties for centuries.

Like many herbs and seeds, fennel is rich in various vitamins and minerals. For example, it contains a lot of vitamin A and C and the minerals iron and potassium.

Fennel can be added to our dog food because it can support digestion and counteract bloating in the stomach and intestines. It can contribute to a healthy cardiovascular system and can have a positive effect on joint problems. Fennel is also said to promote fresh breath.

Puppy, Adult or Senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Yourdog Australian Cattle Dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Australian Cattle Dog is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variety. For an Australian Cattle Dog older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Australian Cattle Dog Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variety.

If your Australian Cattle Dog does not seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of your purchase amount.

Feeding Advice

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for two or three days again. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can, at your discretion, feed 100% Yourdog Australian Cattle Dog dog food.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the container but to place it in the container with the entire bag, which you seal as well as possible.
