Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is bursting with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, ensuring the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

American Cocker Spaniel specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the American Cocker Spaniel. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the American Cocker Spaniel belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the American Cocker Spaniel.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree from the genus Malus, on which the commonly known apples grow, especially in the northern hemisphere. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fibres have a versatile effect in the digestive tract. They are able to absorb moisture, making stools soft and smooth. Dietary fibres also increase the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates the function of the intestines, but also ensures a thorough removal of waste products.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre. In addition, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fibre that helps support a healthy intestinal flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble and apples are low in calories.

Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C ensures muscle and bone development during the early years.

Celery

Celery is a plant from the parsley family. The plant is often found along the coast on wet ground.

Celery is rich in vitamins A, C and K, but also contains a lot of folic acid and potassium. In addition, celery is fat-free, rich in fibre and very low in calories.

We add celery to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to supporting the dog's immune system and digestion. It can also have a positive effect on the skin and coat, the functioning of muscles and nerves through vitamin A and the maintenance of strong bones through vitamin K.

Banana

The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana was cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word 'banana' from the language of the Wolof people.

Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C and B11 (folic acid) and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen immunity. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, magnesium can help relax muscles and promote bone growth. In addition, bananas contain many good fibres and promote good bacteria in the intestines.

Feeding advice

Body weight (kg) Daily amount (g)
10 - 20 190 - 315
20 - 40 315 - 525
40 - 60 525 - 750

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three days as well. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can, at your discretion, start feeding 100% Yourdog American Cocker Spaniel dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the container, but to place it in the container with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible.
