Our Ingredients

To produce our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and it is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables are added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring that your dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific issues can be reduced through the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Tibetan Mastiff-specific Vegetables, Herbs, and Fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Tibetan Mastiff. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Tibetan Mastiff belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Tibetan Mastiff.

Peppermint

Peppermint is a plant from the mint family. It is the plant that led to the creation of peppermint candies. Peppermint originated from a cross between water mint and spearmint. The plant was found in England in the seventeenth century in a field of mint plants. The plant is cultivated in England, France, China, Japan, and in North and South America.

Peppermint can be added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the intestines and gallbladder. Preventing itching is also among the properties of the peppermint plant.

Peppermint can promote fresh breath. The mint in peppermint can have an antispasmodic effect on the intestine and promotes the flow of bile in the intestine. In addition, it can have an antiseptic effect.

Peppermint is rich in vitamins A and C and minerals such as calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus.

Spirulina

Spirulina is a dietary supplement with exceptionally high nutritional value, made from blue-green algae found in tropical and subtropical regions. It belongs to the microalgae family. Did you know that spirulina can be grown in space and consists of 60 to 70% protein?

It is rich in vitamins, including B12, minerals such as calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, and potassium, and all essential amino acids. Spirulina can generally contribute to the overall health and well-being of the dog. In addition, it can help support the immune system and promote healthy skin and a shiny coat. The algae also have a detoxifying effect and promote digestion.

Glucosamine

Glucosamine is an endogenous substance found in joints, cartilage, synovial fluid, and tendons. Glucosamine stimulates cartilage production and keeps joints supple.

Glucosamine is one of the most commonly used supplements for dogs with osteoarthritis and/or joint problems. This is not only the case for older dogs or (overweight) heavy dogs, but increasingly also for younger, highly active dogs. For example, due to a genetic predisposition to joint problems. For these and other reasons, glucosamine is added to our dog food.

Puppy, Adult, or Senior?

To help you choose the right variant of our Tibetan Mastiff dog food, you can use the following guidelines. If your Tibetan Mastiff is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Tibetan Mastiff older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Tibetan Mastiff Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Palatability Guarantee

We are confident in the quality of our food. That's why we offer a palatability guarantee on all Yourdog packages. If your Tibetan Mastiff doesn't seem to like their Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the issues. If we cannot resolve it together, we will refund your purchase price.

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another brand of food, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely transitioned to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Tibetan Mastiff dog food.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the container, but to place the entire bag, which you have sealed as best as possible, into the container.
