Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, which makes it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables are added to our food. Not only are vegetables nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, ensuring that your dog gets all essential, natural antioxidants. For example, fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
St. Bernard specific vegetables, herbs, and fruit
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the St. Bernard. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the St. Bernard belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the St. Bernard.
Peppermint
Peppermint is a plant from the mint family. It is the plant that led to the creation of peppermints. Peppermint originated from a cross between water mint and spearmint. The plant was found in England in the seventeenth century in a field of mint plants. The plant is grown in England, France, China, Japan, and in North and South America.
Peppermint can be added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the intestines and gallbladder. Preventing itching is also one of the properties of the peppermint plant.
Peppermint can promote fresh breath. The mint in peppermint can have an anti-spasmodic effect on the intestine and promotes the flow of bile in the intestine. In addition, it can have an antiseptic effect.
Peppermint is rich in vitamins A and C and minerals such as calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus.
Spirulina
Spirulina is a nutritional supplement with an exceptionally high nutritional value, made from blue-green algae found in tropical and subtropical regions. It belongs to the microalgae family. Did you know that spirulina can be grown in space and consists of 60 to 70% protein?
It is rich in vitamins, including B12, minerals, such as calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, and potassium, and all essential amino acids. Spirulina can generally contribute to the health and well-being of the dog. In addition, it can contribute to supporting the immune system and promoting healthy skin and a shiny coat. The algae also have a detoxifying effect and promote digestion.
Cranberry
The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. This plant is mainly found in the Netherlands on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. Originally, the plant comes from North America and is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.
Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are, among other things, rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also packed with vitamins A, B, and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes the urine more acidic, which makes the environment in the bladder less attractive for bacteria. Adding cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibers in cranberries have a healthy influence on digestion and ensure a longer feeling of fullness.
Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to, among other things, digestion, skin, joints, bones, and nerve functions.

Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can start feeding 100% Yourdog St. Bernard dog food at your own discretion.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you seal as best as possible, in the bin.
