Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Schwyzer Laufhund specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Schwyzer Laufhund. We also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Schwyzer Laufhund belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients were selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Schwyzer Laufhund.

Basil

Basil is a genus from the mint family. The name comes from Ancient Greek, where 'basileus' means king, so the alternative name is also royal herb. It originally occurs between central Africa and Southeast Asia.

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. This plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands in the Netherlands and is very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. Originally, the plant comes from North America and is said to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are, among other things, rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also full of vitamins A, B and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes the urine more acidic, which makes the environment in the bladder less attractive for bacteria. Adding cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibers in cranberries have a healthy effect on digestion and provide a longer feeling of fullness.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Schwyzer Laufhund dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Schwyzer Laufhund is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Schwyzer Laufhund older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Schwyzer Laufhund Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can feed 100% Yourdog Schwyzer Laufhund dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to place it with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible, into the container.
