Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed more effectively into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour and is full of vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Thus, vegetables are not only nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, contribute to digestion.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, ensuring that the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and seaweeds, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Great Pyrenees specific vegetables, herbs and fruit
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Great Pyrenees. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Great Pyrenees belongs. Based on these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Great Pyrenees.
Spirulina
Spirulina is a dietary supplement with an exceptionally high nutritional value, made from blue-green algae found in tropical and subtropical regions. It belongs to the microalgae family. Did you know that spirulina can be grown in space and consists of 60 to 70% protein?
It is rich in vitamins, including B12, minerals such as calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, and potassium, and all essential amino acids. Spirulina can generally contribute to the health and well-being of the dog. In addition, it can help support the immune system and promote healthy skin and a shiny coat. The algae also has a detoxifying effect and promotes digestion.
Glucosamine
Glucosamine is an endogenous substance found in joints, cartilage, synovial fluid, and tendons. Glucosamine stimulates the production of cartilage and keeps joints supple.
Glucosamine is one of the most commonly used supplements for dogs with osteoarthritis and/or joint problems. This is not only the case for older dogs, or (overweight) dogs, but increasingly also for younger, very active dogs. For example, due to a hereditary predisposition to joint problems. For these and other reasons, glucosamine is added to our dog food.
Raspberries
The raspberry is a plant from the rose family and belongs to the genus Rubus. The cultivation of raspberries dates back to the Middle Ages and occurs naturally throughout Europe.
Raspberries contain many substances that can support the dog's health, such as vitamins like vitamin C, minerals like manganese, and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in good fibers.
Raspberry is added to our dog food due to its anti-inflammatory properties and it can positively contribute to the functioning of the immune system. Raspberries can also help maintain eyesight and a healthy cardiovascular system.

Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow the steps below. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Great Pyrenees dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to place it with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible, into the container.
