Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Thus, vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Pekingese-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Pekingese. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Pekingese belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Pekingese.

Thyme

Thyme is a genus of the mint family. It includes herbaceous or woody plants with a very aromatic scent. Thyme has been used by the Greeks and Romans as a medicinal herb for lung diseases, rheumatism, paralysis, stomach cramps, tumors, headaches, colic, and nervous weaknesses.

The medicinal properties of thyme are confirmed by the high values of vitamin K it contains. In addition, thyme also contains a lot of iron, as well as the minerals calcium and manganese. It also contains the amino acid tryptophan and a significant amount of fiber.

Thyme is anti-inflammatory and has powerful antibacterial and antifungal properties. In addition, it stimulates the production of white blood cells and strengthens the immune system. Thyme is rich in antioxidants and effectively combats free radicals.

At Yourdog, we add thyme to our dog food because it could contribute positively to preventing breed-specific complaints related to rheumatism, paralysis, stomach, and nerves. Thyme is also a natural bactericide.

Mango

Mango belongs to the genus Mangifera and probably originated in northeastern India and Southeast Asia. It is a stone fruit with varying shapes and grows on a tree that can reach a height of 40 meters.

This delicious summer treat is packed with essential vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamins A, B6, C, and E, and is rich in potassium, beta-carotene, and alpha-carotene. Furthermore, mango contains many healthy dietary fibers that contribute to strengthening the immune system and digestion. The natural antioxidant (vitamin C) helps support vital bodily functions. Vitamin A is full of beta-carotene, which can help maintain and improve eyesight.

We add mango to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to supporting the dog's resistance and healthy digestion. In addition, mango can support the dog's eyesight.

Carrot

The carrot as we know it today, or the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossbreeding. The first white carrots originally came from Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the VOC in the 17th century.

Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fiber. For example, carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. This is important for capillary development and the health of all cells. The fibers in a carrot contribute to the dog's digestion. In addition, carrots are low in calories and good for coat and skin.

At Yourdog, we add carrots to dog food because they can contribute positively to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the dog's coat and skin. But also to promote good vision and healthy digestion.

Feeding advice

Body weight (kg) Daily amount (g)
1 - 5 35 - 115
5 - 10 115 - 190
10 - 20 190 - 315

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog will now be almost entirely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Pekingese dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible, inside the bin.
