Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring your dog gets all the essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for your dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote your dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and seaweeds, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

Kai-specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Kai. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Kai belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Kai.

Spirulina

Spirulina is a nutritional supplement with exceptionally high nutritional value, made from blue-green algae found in tropical and subtropical regions. It belongs to the microalgae family. Did you know that spirulina can be grown in space and consists of 60 to 70% protein?

It is rich in vitamins, including B12, minerals such as calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium and potassium, and all essential amino acids. Spirulina can generally contribute to the health and well-being of dogs. In addition, it can help support the immune system and promote healthy skin and a shiny coat. The algae also has a detoxifying effect and promotes digestion.

Celery

Celery is a plant from the parsley family. The plant is often found along the coast on wet ground.

Celery is rich in vitamins A, C and K, but also contains a lot of folic acid and potassium. In addition, celery is fat-free, rich in fibre and very low in calories.

We add celery to our dog food because it can positively contribute to supporting the dog's immune system and digestion. It can also have a positive effect on skin and coat, muscle and nerve function due to vitamin A, and the maintenance of strong bones due to vitamin K.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, on which the generally known hand apples, especially in the northern hemisphere, grow. Apples grow in temperate regions.

Dietary fibres have a versatile effect in the digestive tract. They are able to absorb moisture, making stools soft and smooth. Dietary fibres also increase the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates the function of the intestines, but also ensures thorough removal of waste products.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre. In addition, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fibre that helps support a healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble and apples are low in calories.

Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C ensures the development of muscle and bone during the early years.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Yourdog Kai dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Kai is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Kai older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Kai Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

We are convinced of the quality of our food. That is why we offer a palatability guarantee on all Yourdog packages. If your Kai doesn't seem to like their Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyse the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of your purchase amount.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog has now almost completely transitioned to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Kai dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it in the bin with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible.
