Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol, fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide your dog with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our feed. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our feed come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

For these and other reasons, glucosamine is added to our dog food.

Fenugreek

Fenugreek, like the pea, is a plant from the legume family. The plant is also called foenugreek or 'Greek hay'. It originated in Mesopotamia and was already known in antiquity in the Mediterranean region. Today, fenugreek is also cultivated in Central Asia.

Fenugreek is rich in iron and copper. Fenugreek contains saponin and coumarins, which can help with vein problems. Furthermore, it has anti-inflammatory properties (natural anti-inflammatory) and promotes bile production.

Fenugreek can be added to our feed to prevent arthritis, asthma, and skin problems. The stomach and intestines also benefit from the positive effects of fenugreek addition, and it supports healthy digestion.

Blueberry

Blueberries belong to the heather family of plants and grow mainly in open forests in the northern hemisphere. The plant has long been used in traditional European medicine and is known for its positive effects on gastrointestinal diseases and diabetes.

Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants, which protect the body against free radicals. In addition, they contain good fibre for digestion and the berries are rich in vitamins C and K. It could support the immune system and contribute to the overall health of the dog.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Gammel dansk hønsehund dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Gammel dansk hønsehund is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Gammel dansk hønsehund older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Gammel dansk hønsehund senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for two or three days again. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After your own discretion, you can then feed 100% Yourdog Gammel dansk hønsehund dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loose in the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible, into the bin.
