Our ingredients

To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and it is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey which together create a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry contribute to good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our feed. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also possess other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, contribute to digestion.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, ensuring dogs receive all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be beneficial for a dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our feed come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, its breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be alleviated by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Beagle-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Beagle. We also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Beagle belongs. Based on these studies, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Beagle.

Blueberry

Blueberries belong to the heather family of plants and primarily grow in open forests in the Northern Hemisphere. The plant has long been used in traditional European medicine and is known for its positive effects on gastrointestinal diseases and diabetes.

Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants, which protect the body against free radicals. Additionally, they contain good fibre for digestion and are rich in vitamins C and K. They could support the immune system and contribute to the dog's overall health.

Tomato

The tomato is part of the nightshade family and originates from the tomato plant, originally from Mesoamerica. Small varieties were cultivated in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and Mayans. In 1893, it was decided in America that the fruit should be considered a vegetable.

At Yourdog, we use tomatoes at a culinary level, treating them as a vegetable.

Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories, and have a high soluble fibre content which aids digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, which gives them their red colour. The redder a tomato, the more lycopene it contains. Besides giving tomatoes their red colour, lycopene is also known as a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown that lycopene can, among other things, offer protection against cancer and help with cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, tomatoes contain a lot of vitamin C and vitamin A and B complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.

Tomatoes are added to our dog food because they could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, vision, and cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, they can have a general purifying effect on the body.

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. This plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands in the Netherlands and is very rare in the rest of the country. Originally from North America, it is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. These berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also packed with vitamins A, B, and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes urine more acidic, which makes the bladder environment less attractive for bacteria. Adding cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibres in cranberries have a positive effect on digestion and provide a longer feeling of fullness.

Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, joints, bones, and nerve functions, among others.

Feeding advice

Body weight (kg) Daily amount (g)
10 - 20 190 - 315
20 - 40 315 - 525
40 - 60 525 - 750

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we advise following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Beagle dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place the entire bag, which you have sealed as well as possible, into the bin.
