Our ingredients
To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol, fat, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together create a delicious taste and aroma in the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables are added to our feed. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring that dogs receive all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, contribute to fresh breath, or help maintain healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our feed come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and seaweeds, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Appenzeller Sennenhund specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Appenzeller Sennenhund. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Appenzeller Sennenhund belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Appenzeller Sennenhund.
Basil
Basil is a genus from the mint family. The name comes from ancient Greek, where 'basileus' means king, so an alternative name is king's herb. It originally occurs between central Africa and Southeast Asia.
According to traditional medicine, basil was used as a treatment for conditions including arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart disease, and abdominal pain. Research has shown that basil can have strong antioxidant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. Additionally, basil can promote digestion, help eliminate waste products, and may have antispasmodic and calming effects on dogs.
Calendula
Calendula (marigold) is a plant that, like goldenrod, belongs to the daisy family. Calendula is a cultivated flower; it has been used for its diverse medicinal properties for ages. The original calendula species was probably found in Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is now hardly found in the wild. Calendula is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.
There is a lot of information available about the positive effects of calendula. Calendula can be added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes, and feet. It is especially good for the recovery of skin and mucous membranes, it has anti-inflammatory and regenerative effects. It can also prevent cramps during the digestive process.
Calendula is primarily used as an external care product for scratches or skin problems, among other things. But it can also be used internally due to its regenerative properties.
Cranberry
The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. In the Netherlands, this plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the country. The plant originally comes from North America and is said to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.
Cranberries contain a unique blend of nutrients that can offer a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also full of vitamins A, B, and C, and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes urine more acidic, which makes the bladder environment less attractive for bacteria. Adding cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibers in cranberries have a healthy influence on digestion and ensure a longer feeling of fullness.
Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, joints, bones, and nerve functions, among other things.

Feeding advice
| Body weight (kg) | Daily amount (g) |
| 10 - 20 | 190 - 315 |
| 20 - 40 | 315 - 525 |
| 40 - 60 | 525 - 750 |
Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Appenzeller Sennenhund dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible, into the bin.
