Our Ingredients

To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste, rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is brimming with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables are added to our feed. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be alleviated by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the American Foxhound. We also conducted research into the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the American Foxhound belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the American Foxhound.

Chamomile

Chamomile is a genus in the daisy family. Chamomile is widely cultivated in Hungary and Eastern Europe. It also grows wild throughout Europe. The name Chamomile comes from a Greek word meaning "earth apple" and refers to its apple-like scent. Chamomile has an excellent reputation in natural medicine.

Chamomile can be added to Yourdog dog food by us because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the stomach, intestines, skin, rheumatism, nerves, inflammation, and urinary tract.

Chamomile can have a mild calming effect on dogs and could therefore be used for dogs that often experience stress. In addition, it can have a positive effect on dogs with "nervous digestion." It can have antispasmodic and antiseptic properties.

Fennel

Fennel is a plant from the carrot family and is recognizable by its anise flavor. The thread-like branches of the leaves are often used as an herb and the seeds as a spice. These seeds have been known for their medicinal properties for centuries.

Like many herbs and seeds, fennel is rich in various vitamins and minerals. For example, it contains a lot of vitamin A and C, and the minerals iron and potassium.

Fennel can be added to our dog food because it can support digestion and counteract bloating in the stomach and intestines. It can contribute to a healthy cardiovascular system and can have a positive influence on joint problems. Fennel is also said to promote fresh breath.

Tomato

The tomato is part of the nightshade family and comes from the tomato plant, originally from Mesoamerica. Small varieties were cultivated in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and Mayans. In 1893, it was decided in America that the fruit should be considered a vegetable.

At Yourdog, we use tomatoes at a culinary level, treating tomatoes as a vegetable.

Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories, and have a high soluble fiber content which contributes to digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, which gives them their red color. The redder a tomato is, the more lycopene it contains. Besides giving tomatoes their red color, lycopene is also known as a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown that lycopene can offer protection against cancer and can help with cardiovascular diseases, among other things. In addition, tomatoes contain a lot of vitamin C and vitamin A and B complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.

Tomato is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, vision, and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, it can have a general purifying effect on the body.

Puppy, Adult or Senior?

To help you make the right choice between our American Foxhound dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your American Foxhound is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For an American Foxhound older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog American Foxhound Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

If your American Foxhound doesn't seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of your purchase amount.

Feeding Advice

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely transitioned to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog American Foxhound dog food.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to place it in the container with the entire bag, which you seal as best as possible.
