Puur Natuur Tranquil (Rest) Dog and Cat 75gr
Puur Natuur Tranquil (Rest) Dog and Cat 75gr provides calm and relaxation for a longer period during stress, such as fireworks. This complementary animal feed is suitable for dogs and cats.
Composition: per 1 gram, Dong Quai, Hops (Humulus lupulus), Japanese Walnut (Ginkgo biloba), Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha), St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum), 90.1 mg L-Tryptophan, 90.1 mg Vitamin B3 (nicotinamide), 73.0 mg Magnesium (as -citrate), 37.4 mg Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine HCl), 28.5 mg Zinc (as -L-methionine), and 9.12 mg Inositol. A dilution of Sodium phosphoricum.
For relaxation and calm over a longer period.
Properties per ingredient: Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis) – Chinese Angelica: Originally, Dong Quai was used for its balancing effects on the female hormonal system. Dong Quai may help reduce discomfort and cramps, mood swings, irritability, and bloating.
Humulus Lupulus (Hops): This herb has a strong relaxing and calming effect. Hops promote digestion.
Ginkgo biloba for improved concentration and memory.
St. John's Wort is used as a psychological tonic.
Inositol has a calming effect. This Vitamin B3 compound consists of six niacin molecules bound to one inositol molecule, an unofficial B vitamin. Once this compound enters the body, the molecule is slowly cleaved, and niacin gradually enters the bloodstream, where it can exert its effect. The presence of inositol slows down the release of niacin.
Hawthorn (Crataegus) for the heart. It is prescribed, among other things, for nervousness.
L-Tryptophan has a calming effect. L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that is not richly represented in animal diets. It is the only precursor of the neurotransmitter serotonin. Serotonin levels in the brain can be increased by L-Tryptophan intake. L-Tryptophan has appetite-suppressing properties, so it can be used for weight reduction.
Magnesium and vitamin B6 also play an important role in the conversion of L-Tryptophan to serotonin and are added for this reason. (Source: Natura Foundation monograph)
Magnesium is also known as the anti-stress mineral. Magnesium has antispasmodic and relaxing properties and fulfills a significant number of essential functions in the body. Magnesium deficiency often manifests itself through muscle cramps and fatigue. A magnesium deficiency generally results in a restless reaction. The duration of action of Vitamin B3 is extended by L-Tryptophan. (Source: Natura Foundation monograph).
Vitamin B3 Niacin is the building block of the coenzymes NAD+ and NADP+: More than 200 enzymes depend on these coenzymes for their function. Because NAD and NADP are essential for, among other things, energy metabolism, it is obvious that niacin supplementation improves energy balance and is successfully used in the treatment of fatigue, irritability, and for good digestion. Niacin is especially used to counteract strong mood swings. (Source: Natura Foundation monograph)
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine HCl) is a co-factor and enhances the action of magnesium and L-Tryptophan.
Zinc (as -L-methionine) supports mental alertness.
Inositol has a calming effect.
Dosage and application:
Unless otherwise prescribed by the veterinarian or therapist.
The optimal dosage 1-2 times daily:
Dog > 25 kg 3 scoops
Dog 10-25 kg 2 scoops
Dog < 10 kg
Cat 1 scoop
1 scoop contains approximately 1 gram.
Administration
Can be given with food. As this powder contains herbs, it is recommended to start with a small amount to allow the animal to get used to the taste. Moisten the powder so that it is not blown out of the food bowl.
Advice for use
Each animal reacts differently to the stated dosage. The dosage is quite precise; observe the animal's behavior carefully. If the results are insufficient, slowly increase the dosage. Once the desired behavior is achieved, a maintenance dosage can be sought, slowly reducing to approximately half of the indicated daily dosage.
Duration of treatment
In an acute situation, the duration of treatment is relatively short. This can vary from a few days to 3 weeks. If there is improvement, continue administering this product for a few more days.
In case of long-term discomfort, the effect is usually visible after 1 to 3 weeks. Upon improvement, a maintenance dosage can be used. This is usually half of the indicated dosage on the packaging. When dosing this product, carefully observe the animal's reaction. Initially, a higher dosage may be necessary; this product can be safely given at a double dose. Gradually reduce the dosage to the lowest possible dosage.
This product can be given continuously. It is advisable to include a stop week after every 6 to 8 weeks. This allows the 'stimulus' to be reintroduced after the stop week. Resume treatment immediately if there is a reason to do so.
Storage
Avoid direct sunlight and store this product dry and at a temperature between 5-20C. Keep out of reach of children. The expiry date is stated on the label and the box.
Synergy and combinations with other products
This product can be safely used in combination with natural health products and regular medicines. PUUR Rust can be combined with PUUR Nervosity in case of fear of thunderstorms, fireworks, or loud noises. PUUR Magnesium or Phytonics Magnesium citrate reduce muscle tension and general physical tension. Phytonics Strezz has a strengthening effect on PUUR Rust.
Contraindications

Side effects
To date, no side effects of this product are known or reported. With some dilutions and extracts, a short-term exacerbation may occur at the start of treatment. This means that the animal is reacting to the product. In case of severe increase, halve the dosage or temporarily stop and then gradually build it up again.
