Goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea)
Herbal preparations based on goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea L.) have been successfully used for centuries in the treatment of the urinary tract. Good for kidney function and urinary tract.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the water element is most involved in joint function. This element is associated with kidney energy. Solidago has a positive effect on kidney energy.

In ancient Chinese philosophy there is an imagery that says: "Imbalance in the joints is caused by a deficient Jing in the kidneys. It pulls, tears and wanders like a rudderless log in the slow-flowing rivers (read meridians) constantly searching for the freedom of the sea and marrow". This imagery means that there is a deficiency of Jing (essence) in the kidneys, which leads to a general malaise. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, such a deficiency has effects in the back, brain, teeth and bone marrow. Hippocrates described that in a patient who is not moving properly, the perverse energy of cold and dampness settles in the water of the kidneys. The cold and dampness precipitate on the life energy that is anchored in the kidney and adrenal gland (Jing). The best remedy for this is to raise the temperature in the liver and lungs (showing anger) and letting go of fears (kidney).

Boswellia
Provides relief. The resin of the Boswellia serrata tree is used in Indian Ayurvedic treatment to promote flexible movement.

Dosage and application:
Unless otherwise prescribed by the veterinarian or therapist

Horse: 20-30 drops 1-2 times daily

Dog: 10-15 drops 1-2 times daily

Cat: 5-10 drops 1-2 times daily

The product can be given directly or with some water using a plastic spoon or syringe in the mouth. Optionally, it can be given by dripping it onto something tasty. Give PUUR Arthro at least half an hour before or after food, so that it can be absorbed through the clean oral mucous membrane.

Storage
PUUR Arthro has a long shelf life if stored at room temperature, dry and out of direct sunlight.

Keep out of reach of children. The expiry date is stated on the label and the box.

Advice for use
In general, for stiff movement, it is wise to walk the animal frequently. Especially linear movements, walking and trotting are good for keeping the joints flexible, and swimming is also very good for the joints. Abrupt stopping and quick turns, such as during play with other animals and throwing sticks and balls (with dogs), should be avoided. This places too much strain on the joints.

Duration of treatment
In an acute situation, the duration of treatment is relatively short. This can range from a few days to 3 weeks. If there is improvement, continue administering this product for a few more days.

For long-term discomfort, the effect is usually visible after 1 to 3 weeks. If there is improvement, a maintenance dosage can be started. This is usually half of the dosage indicated on the packaging. When dosing this product, carefully observe the animal's reaction. A higher dosage may be necessary at the beginning; this product can be safely given in a double dosage. Gradually reduce the dosage to the lowest possible dosage.

This product can be given continuously. It is advisable to include a stop week after every 6 to 8 weeks. This way, the 'stimulus' can be offered again after the stop week. Resume treatment immediately if there is reason to do so.

Storage
Avoid direct sunlight and store this product dry and at a temperature between 5-20C. Keep out of reach of children. The expiry date is stated on the label and the box.

Contraindications
Always use during pregnancy and lactation in consultation with the treating veterinarian.

Side effects
To date, no side effects of this product are known or have been reported. With some dilutions and extracts, a short-term aggravation may occur at the start of treatment. This means that the animal is reacting to the product. In case of severe increase, halve the dosage or stop temporarily and then gradually build up again.

Synergy and combinations with other products
This product can be used without objection in combination with other natural health products and regular medicines, such as painkillers.

For bone formation around the joint, give this product in combination with PUUR Osteo. For flexible movement in the hips, PUUR Dyspla is indicated. PUUR Glucosamine Compleet contains building blocks for the production/building of cartilage (in the joints) and can be very well combined with PUUR Arthro. For a flexible hindquarters, PUUR Spondy can be given.
